Wherever possible, we try to hard code the main structure of the templates to ensure that important elements such as navigation, metadata, related content etc. don’t get forgotten.
This also means there is a level of consistency between the different articles, biographies and product landing pages.
Adding content
Within the templates there are three main areas you can add content. These areas are hard coded into the template of the page, allowing you to drop content into these areas that suits you.
Banner
This unit is optional on most pages. It can be used to display an image, text and link or a carousel unit that automatically rotates through images.
Content
This is the main content area and can be constructed from any number of “Plugins”. Plugins allow you to add many different types of content. Any number of plugins can be incorporated in any order. The most commonly used plugins are images, text, quotes, carousels etc.
Sidebar
On most pages, the sidebar will be generated automatically based on the template in use.

If there isn't a support guide on the topic you're looking for, tell us what you're trying to do and we'll write one. Most guides on this page started as a request from an editor, so if you've hit a gap, someone else probably has too.
